Welcome to the Computers class offered through Marshall Middle School.

Google Drawings Cartoon Assignment
Directions:
Start by signing into google email account.
Click on “More” and select “documents”.
Click the “Create New” drop down menu and select “Drawing”.
Select the “shape” icon and insert a box shape. You have just created a frame.
Copy the frame at least five more times (You need a minimum of six slides for this assignment).
Using the shapes, create characters/people/objects and add word bubbles that tell a story. Take time to make sure the story is created cleverly and appropriately. Anything inappropriate will be an automatic 0%.
Use the tool bar to add color to the images. If you draw a tree, make sure the to use brown and green colors avalible to make the image look like a tree.
Make sure to take your time and do a good job on this assignment. I realize that there are not a lot of guidelines here, but use your imagination and come up with something fun and creative!
Print off your comic strip when you are finished and turn it into me.

Google Forms Assignment
Assignment: Today you will be creating a Google Form quiz about you! To do this, sign into Google and select documents.

Once open, select create new and choose form. To complete your assignment, follow the directions listed below.
Directions:
1. Think of 10 questions that you want to ask your classmates to see how well they really know you. Some examples of these questions are:
What is my favorite color?
How many brothers and sisters do I have?
Have I ever broken a bone?
When is my Birthday?
2. Create a Multiple Choice quiz on Google Forms
3. Now come up with some fake answers to trick them. (Examples: You have two brothers and one sister, you also put as a choice two sisters and one brother. If you were born on March 12, also put March 21 as a choice.)
4. Make your quiz look different by selecting as different template.
5. Invite 5 other people to take this quiz.
6. Now answer your classmate’s quizzes and see how well you do.

Assignment: We will be learning how to use Google Docs. Follow the directions below to complete this assignment.
Directions:
Students should join in a group of three in Google Docs.
Answer the following questions on ONE document and ONE computer per students. (Each student should have their own font color.)
What is your favorite season? Why?
List and explain 10 differences that you have noted between Google Docs and Microsoft Work. (You can do this in a table if you prefer.)
In what situations would you use Word over Google Docs and vice versa?
Do you think schools/businesses will continue to use Microsoft products or do you think they will move towards free products like Google Docs?
Change two text sizes and styles, and add a background.
